HTC may have recently pondered over their dwindling market share as well as falling sales in 2012 but they are far from giving up. With HTC Butterfly and HTC Droid DNA already doing great among the Android users mainly due to their high specs, it was expected of HTC to up the ante with their premium smartphone offering in 2012. Now it seem’s we have an idea of what kind of phone is making its way out in the second half of 2013.  Rumour mills are buzzing with excitement over the HTC M7.

HTC M7 is expected to rewrite the rules HTC had set in the smartphone industry about several aspects such as display size,  processing capability and even Camera.  The phone is expected to run on a 1.7 GHz quad core processor from Qualcomm and feature a 2 GB RAM for help. As far as Operating System is concerned, HTC M7 will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean at first but will soon receive the next version of Android as well.  HTC has decided that display wars are not the way forward by focusing on bringing out a better display than focusing on Bigger screen size. HTC has gone with a 4.5″ Super IPS LCD 2 display with Full HD display resolution.

The biggest change in HTC M7 however is the Camera. The primary camera will break tradition and not focus on being the high on mega pixels but rather on actual sensors. HTC dubs this technology, Ultrapixels. HTC M7 will have not 1, not 2 but 3 4.3 MP sensors working at producing crystal clear images that have high quality as well as clarity.  In total this gives better picture quality than even a 12 MP sensor individually.  HTC may have something big here as far as imaging technology is concerned. It is yet to be seen how the industry follows up with competing models.  HTC M7 also houses a 2 MP front camera that promises full HD video calling capability.  This would be obviously in addition to all the regular features such as Geo tagging, auto focus, face and smile detection etc.

The rumour mills are going abuzz and there has even been a high profile leak video that has surfaced on etradesupply site

The phone will feature a flat design unlike the One series. The phone looks similar to the Droid DNA but is fairly smaller.  In the video we do get to see the basic outline of the phone as well as what can be expected in terms of specs and hardware.  For storing data, HTC M7 will offer 32 GB of internal storage. There is no visible micro SD card slot for expansion at the moment. THe phone will feature a 2300 mAH battery, making it the largest ever on an HTC phone and providing enough juice to cater to all your smartphone desires.

HTC M7 price in India should be above Rs 45000 making it a super high end smartphone. The phone will become the marquee for 2013 . It will be interesting to see how the phone fairs against the S4 when it becomes available in May.
