Surprisingly, Sony is set to officially announce their flagship smartphones of 2013 in CES (Consumer Electronics Show) which is kicking off from January 8th and ending on 11th of the same month. While other smartphone brands are to announce their own 2013 flagship phones in MWC (Mobile World Congress) which is set to happen in February 2013. The latest leak to happen in the smartphone industry is about the upcoming flagship handsets from Sony. According to the leak, and earlier leaks which named the flagship as Xperia ‘Odin’ is now officially named as Xperia ZL.
This phone comes pre-loaded with Android 4.1.2 JellyBean and the most amazing feature about this phone is its screen and the camera. The screen used in this phone is a 5 inch capacitive multi-touchscreen panel of LCD variety and with a resolution of a whopping 1920 x 1080 pixels which takes its pixel density to 441 ppi. This screen is going to give a hard fight to the recently announced HTC Droid DNA which has a Super LCD 3 panel. The next great thing about this phone is the camera, which is 13 MP sensor with autofocus optics as well as LED flash. This camera can even record full HD videos at 30 frames per second but a even better feature is its ability to record videos in real-time HDR which gives a surreal experience. The pixel drawing and multitasking strain is carried out by and ultra-powerful 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with Adreno 320 GPU and 2 GB of RAM.
The connectivity includes 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.o, GLONASS A-GPS, NFC, Micro USB and 3.5 mm audio jack. There will be 16 GB of internal storage space and an option to expand it using the micro SD card slot. It will also come with IP57 certification which means it will be water and dust resistant. There are no updates about the battery capacity but going by the hardware specifications, it should be better than 2500 mAh. The Sony Xperia ZL price when released in India 2 months down the link will mostly be more than INR 35,000 as it will be competing with Samsung Galaxy S3, upcoming Galaxy S4, HTC One X+, HTC Butterfly and of course the Apple iPhone 5.
